Upcycling Ideas for Halloween

With Halloween right around the corner, you might be faced with the task of decorating your home. Instead of running to the store and buying a cartload of new decorations, reduce waste and save money with these simple DIY projects. Upcycling is a great way to reuse old items and turn them into stylish new ornaments that fit your home, and these ideas will add just the right amount of flair.

1. Toilet Paper Roll Bats
Next time you reach the end of a roll of TP, instead of tossing it in the recycle bin, turn it into a bat. With a few standard size rolls, a little paint, and some glue, you can make a fleet of these flying critters in minutes.

2. Frankenstein Tin Cans
Simple, inexpensive, and fun, these upcycled tin cans are made almost totally from things that are already in your home. Get out the spray paint and googly eyes, and make yourself a great new porch decoration.
